Builder of the world's largest yacht joins Singapore Yacht Show Published: 01.01.2014
Lürssen, the world-renowned superyacht builder, will be on display at the Singapore Yacht Show this year. With an award winning 50-strong fleet of yachts, including 10 over 100m, the Lürssen brand is synonymous with superlative craftsmanship and engineering.
“Lürssen has always been very active in Asia, not only with our yachting but also with our navy business,” commented Sales Director Michael Bremen. “Throughout the show we will be available to inform visitors about current news and developments in the shipyard and to discuss any personal questions concerning yachting. This will be a busy year for Lürssen as we will be delivering three yachts between 66 and 105 metres. Models of our latest deliveries will be on display at the show and we welcome any visitors.”
The fifth-generation family-owned German company has a reputation for breaking records in yachting: from founder Freidrich Lürssen building the first ever motorboat in 1886 to 2013’s launch of the world’s largest superyacht, Azzam, an impressive 180m in length. Superyachts such as M/Y Solandge (pictured), launched last year, are testament to the world-class skills put to use at Lürssen: she features 49 different stones and 33 exotic woods from around the globe.
Today, under the leadership of brothers Friedrich and Peter, the Lürssen family extends across a workforce of 1,400 skilled specialists that craft yachts for some of the most exacting and experienced yacht owners in the world, from royalty to business magnates.
